Trunk.ly acquired by Delicious

As of November 9, 2011, it was announced that the newish owners of Delicious had acquired trunk.ly (which I'd blogged about before). However, even earlier (in September), my manager had blogged about Delicious' apparent demise, as precipitated by the takeover by AVOS.

Trunk.ly has promised to remain functional until the start of next year, but I've found that attempts to use the Delicious import feature are failing (the page times out). The export for trunk.ly worked without any problems.

I'm sincerely hoping that Delicious gets their act together, and that soon it'll have incorporated trunk.ly's ease of use, and restored lost tags and works glitch-free for all the pre-existing (or surviving?) users.

  1. I wasn't a Delico.us user (I guess I never found a need), but I know many who did. I also haven't messed with trunk.ly...I'll have to take a look if I can squeeze some time in.

Sorry I've been missing here for awhile - work and family have managed to soak up every waking minute lately. I'll try to catch up, but between Twitter, FB, and your occasional G+ post, I probably caught most of your updates.

  2. Hi Mick, as I'd been negligent in posting too, you've even less need to apologize (nor even account for) your absence. I hope you were able to relax this past Thanksgiving, at least!

There's one more entry that I'm hoping to follow up with several posts, which explains both of my issued patents. http://mayo-takeuchi.blogspot.com/2011/11/language-id-textual-part-1.html
